Context: The archetypal symbols of astrology have been around for millennia, and basically, astrology is a language that helps us map and understand our connections with the energy of a living universe. Astrology allows us to track archetypal human experiences and knowable life cycles.
In other words, the planets are not in charge, and do not cause or compel us to do anything. The same divine intelligence that created us also created the planets in our solar system. Perhaps the best way to consider how astrology works is, when we look up into the sky at the planets, asteroids and key points in our solar system, it’s like looking into a giant cosmic mirror, reflecting our human experiences, energetic cycles, and evolution back to us.
The Scoops:
June 10, 2025 – June 30, 2026
Giant Jupiter opens and expands a new field of possibilities in the Cancer section of everyone’s charts, and also activates the Aries, Libra and Capricorn of our charts!
Jupiter, the great magnifier, is not moderate and typically correlates with the idea that bigger is better. In fact, with expansive Jupiter, more is merrier, and almost always preferable to less. Jupiter’s energies tend to be positive, optimistic, confident, and somewhat restless. Often too focused on the big picture to be bothered with details, Jupiter tends to look toward the horizon for inspiration and adventure.

Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. The Summer Solstice correlates with a time of growing and celebrating and enjoying the nutrients that give us life. It’s a time to acknowledge the richness and fullness of life, its joys and sorrows, and the cleansing, strengthening light of the Sun. It’s appropriate to consider who and what we nourish and cultivate in our lives as we begin the summer season of manifestation and growth
The Summer Solstice, highlights Cancer energy and relates with the mother(s) in our lives, our emotional, feeling nature, and the family story. It’s a time to consider:
- What am I feeling?
- Where do I belong?
- Where do I feel safe and welcome?
- How can I nourish, nurture, and take care of myself?
- How can I create safe spaces for myself and my loved ones?
- How can I develop a healthy base of security?
- How am I a container for life itself and how can I make more room in my life to grow?
Summer Solstice Sun Joins Giant Jupiter
This year’s solstice energy is magnified by the presence of buoyant, optimistic Jupiter which recently returned to the sign of Cancer for the first time since 2013. Sensitive types will already notice the difference in energy as we’re not feeling nearly as distracted with excessive over-thinking —sighs of relief all around. We’re still busy though, and perhaps more determined than ever to focus on what really matters to us, as our clarity increases about what that is.

The 12 month cycle of Jupiter in Cancer will likely pull more focus toward the home, and improvement or expansion of the living space and time spent there. We might be more likely to entertain in our homes as hosting, cooking and sharing meals could become richly rewarding experiences. Tending to gardens could also become a favorite pastime or welcome indulgence!
Jupiter in Cancer is a protective combination and correlates with a greater awareness of emotions, safety, and security.
Family issues are highlighted and we’re likely to be much more aware of our needs for connection with others and for healthy support systems. Family travel and playful, good-hearted adventures could be over due and could go a long way toward restoring over-stimulated nervous systems.
In many ways, Jupiter in Cancer is a fortuitous energy, yet it could also serve to heighten or magnify any problem areas or issues related to home, family, or security, making them much harder to ignore or overlook. Luckily, optimistic Jupiter could also provide the confidence, hopefulness, or good cheer to tend to the issues that arise in ways that are mutually beneficial. Moderation could be harder to gauge, especially when it comes to food.
We might notice some increased defensiveness or a tendency to over-react, over-protect, or over-correct for sensitivities, both in ourselves and others. As always, it’s best if we can speak to what we’re experiencing and suspend our judgments of others when it comes to navigating emotional terrain. Something that isn’t very hurtful or upsetting to us might be very upsetting to someone else, and vice versa.
This twelve month transit of Jupiter through Cancer is different from previous Jupiter/Cancer cycles because it also encounters challenging energies from Saturn and Neptune in Aries, as well as from Pluto in Aquarius. It could be useful to recognize that other people might not be willing or able to provide as much validation or recognition of our efforts as we’d like, or maybe not as much as they used to offer. We might need to exercise more discernment about who we interact with, and to offer ourselves more pats on the back, making sure to build in some rewards or breaks of our own, so that we don’t over-work ourselves, perhaps trying to meet someone else’s harsh standards.
If others are not available to recognize, agree with, or validate us, that is more of a reflection of them and where they are on their journeys – not us. Fortunately, Mars in Virgo could contribute a boost of energy to help us connect with our own enthusiasm to follow practical steps to pursue our own goals, even while Saturn in Aries nudges us to follow through and behave with integrity whether we think anyone else is watching or not. One way or the other, we’re less likely to get away with over-indulgence, lethargy or escapism, and we could risk losing our proverbial space in line if we don’t pay attention. It is possible that these energies could combine to help us find other motivated folks to connect with in mutually beneficial ways, but the readiness and willingness to proceed whether we have found those folks yet or not, could be more important.
Ultimately, Jupiter in Cancer serves as a giant reminder to focus on process – to try, as best we can, to stay involved in our own process of understanding and expressing ourselves and our needs, insecurities, and vulnerabilities while we seek greater learning, connection, improvement, and attainment of our goals.
