The winter solstice marks the shortest day of the year and the start of the winter season in the northern hemisphere. After the solstice, each day grows a bit longer and gradually increases in light!
Celebrated around the globe in various traditions, the solstice can be a wonderful time for ritual to honor the moment and the gradual return of the light.
Astrologically, the Sun enters zero degrees of Capricorn at the winter solstice, featuring a month of more determined and purposeful energies. This year, the solstice Sun in Capricorn makes a number of favorable aspects with the Moon, Jupiter, and Saturn, so it could be an especially auspicious time to give thanks for the current level of blessings and protections in your life before identifying any goals and adventures you’d like to pursue in 2024. Where would you like to visit? What would you like to learn? What would you like to organize? What commitments will you make to yourself? How would you like to see yourself grow and your opportunities expand in the coming year?
Spending even a few moments in reflection or writing some simple notes of gratitude in a journal could help welcome in these energies and could also help bring individuals into greater alignment with their inner wisdom and spiritual source #WinterSolstice 2023
