Context: The archetypal symbols of astrology have been around for millenia and, basically, astrology is a language that helps us map and understand our connections with the energy of a living universe.  Astrology allows us to track archetypal human experiences and knowable life cycles.

In other words, the planets are not in charge, and do not cause or compel us to do anything. The same divine intelligence that created us also created the planets in our solar system.  Perhaps the best way to consider* how astrology works is, when we look up into the sky at the planets, asteroids and key points in our solar system, it’s like looking into a giant cosmic mirror, reflecting our human experiences, energetic cycles, and evolution back to us.  Astrologers have been observing the movements of the planets for many millenia and witnessing the correlations between planetary movements and human experiences.  The planetary movements and our cycles of consciousness and growth are part of the SAME dance of life.  So, if we’re experiencing something here on earth, either as individuals or as societies, trained astrologers look up into the cosmic mirror and see those same energetic themes expressing in the movements of the planets.

#2024JupiterinGemini   #Jupiter2024

Planet Jupiter is now moving through the sign of Gemini

for the first time since 2012-2013

Jupiter moves through Gemini from 5/25/24- 6/9/25

The Scoops: Giant Jupiter opens and expands a new field of possibilities in the Gemini section of everyone’s charts, and also activates the Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces sections of our charts. Jupiter, the great magnifier, is not moderate and typically correlates with the idea that bigger is better. In fact, with Jupiter, more is not only merrier, but more is definitely preferable to less!  Jupiter’s energies tend to be positive, optimistic, confident, and somewhat restless. Often too focused on the big picture to be bothered with details, Jupiter tends to look toward the horizon for inspiration and adventure.

While Jupiter travels through the chatty, curious, and sometimes scattered, sign of Gemini, the desires to communicate, learn, share information, and travel are often noticeably heightened. For some folks, this could be a great time to focus on their educations, while others turn toward their interests in writing, photography or travel. Joining a book club, planning trips, or taking classes in whatever seems interesting could be great ways to allow these energies some room to express. News from, and gatherings with, siblings and neighbors could also be highlighted. These energies can be funny, flirty, and charming, so having a good sense of humor and enjoying a good story or a good laugh could be healing tonics – as long as we’re mindful of boundaries and people’s feelings.

The power of positive thinking and affirmations could be especially potent with this combination, as could the ability to remain cheerful and hopeful in the face of difficulties. Jupiter in Gemini reminds me of the parable of “faith the size of a mustard seed.” Giving Life even a little room to bring some good energy into uncertain or challenging situations could help us to move through each day, and maybe even to regain some optimism. Sometimes, with a bit of willingness to have faith, we notice our own out-sized fears or negative perceptions shifting into more balanced or positive understandings of our situations.

Some challenges of Jupiter’s passage through Gemini terrain could include increased issues related to:

  • saying yes to way too many things
  • excessive multi-tasking, which can short-circuit a process, and prevent us from completing anything
  • over-sharing. Even more reserved folks could become loquacious!
  • getting overwhelmed with too much information
  • unregulated A.I.
  • messy issues with social media
  • travel, like over-crowded roadways or over-booked airplanes
  • broadband interruptions or lack of access
  • duplicity, dishonesty, inconsistency
  • boredom, distraction, inability to focus
  • gossip
  • superficiality
